It is still among the top ten sellers at Amazon.com. And when it receives a glowing endorsement from a scholar whom I respect, like Eugene Peterson, it is not a phenomenon that discerning Christians can ignore.”
That’s how Chuck Colson starts his article Stay Out Of The Shack. But unlike Chuck Colson I have actually read the book. In his article he makes some grand statements why you shouldn’t read the book by William P. Young. I find it amazing that people who don’t know what they are talking about seem to have a lot to say on the matter.
Like I say I’ve read the book and found it fascinating! Although parts of it were hard for me to hear, I came away with a new understanding of God and His love as shown through Jesus. The author was very adept in describing deep theological concepts in a way that makes you say, “Wow, why didn’t I see that before.
The only problem I found was personal. It shed light on my life in a way that I was not prepared for. I can’t explain it in words so I encourage you to read The Shack and judge for yourself.
